This is fabulous. Thank you. More than inspiration, I have decided to put these things into practice. My goal? To get my stories on paper. To share the wonder and magic that I see in the world with others. To create those moments of delight and wonder through stories that enchanted me as a child and have made me a willing slave to the written word my entire adult life.

#5 could also apply to getting something done earlier than expected(reading 20 pages/day). I do this a lot, I'll get done early and lull myself into think I 'deserve' time off.

Keeping your mind on the extra progress you will make by going forward is a good strategy to combat this.

Great thoughts. A morning workout is the first part of my routine, than a shower and, like you, getting dressed for "work." Rather than writing longhand like you, I use software that types my words as I speak. It's great because I simply talk as if talking or explaining something to a friend, and I think it makes the writing take on my "voice" much more so than when I type.

Mark,
This is applicable to anyone desiring to blaze an essentially individual path, where you don't get to drive to an office and a cube, and no boss telling you to "Just Git 'er done." I'm convinced that I was born without the consistency gene. It's almost as though my very being rails against doing something in the same way for even three days in a row.
I really like the pattern you've carved out to ensure that you actually get the job done, especially where you take the time to behold the day's possibilities. Each day is charged with opportunity if you can only concentrate and bring those possibilities into your present awareness.
